Yes. The app works the same on both Android and iOS devices and both can be mixed freely with an event between marshals and competitors.

We have written the app not to run in the background (that may be an option in the future) to avoid excessive battery drain. For marshals using the app will drain the battery so carrying a power pack or other means of recharging is recommended, especially for long events. As the app does not run in the background, if you are a competitor, you must remember to turn the app on when you get near a checkpoint.
